Top Five Wednesday ~ Things on your Bookshelf that Aren’t Books

I loved this week’s topic because I am obsessed with my bookshelves and decorating them perfectly. I did post pictures of my bookshelves a few weeks ago, but this post will allow me to go into further detail about the objects on my bookshelves that are not books. As you will find, each item has a little story behind it, which will hopefully allow all of you to learn a little more about me.

5) Elle and Blair Fowler Autograph

For those of you who do not know, Elle and Blair are sisters who create beauty and fashion related videos. I became obsessed with their videos when I was about twelve. I always needed to try whatever product they recommended or start doing my hair the same way. When they released their second book, one of their tour stops was in New Jersey. Because my parents understood how much they meant to me, they drove two hours to New Jersey and waited at the mall with me all day, just so I could meet Elle and Blair and get their autograph. The little bow on top of the picture frame was attached to the cotton candy they handed out at the event.

4) Varsity Letter

I have taking dance classes since I was two years old and this past year I joined my school’s varsity kickline team. Being a dancer and a part of this team is a huge part of who I am and truly means a lot to me.

3) Tiffany Jewelry Box

Every girl knows what comes in a pretty, little, aqua box. For my 15th birthday I got my first piece of Tiffany jewelry, a “Return to Tiffany” heart necklace. Because I loved the box so much, I decided to display it on my bookshelf.

2) Picture of a Rockette and I

Now that you all know I am a dancer, my next favorite item on my bookshelf is a picture of a Rockette and I. I only live an hour from New York City by train, so why I did not see the Rockette’s Christmas Show before this past November is beyond me. While I was there, I took a picture with a Rockette, which is now proudly displayed on my bookshelf.

1) Owl Bookends

My most favorite items on my bookshelf that are not books are my owl bookends. I love anything with owls on it, and my friends constantly joke about my owl bed sheets, clothing with owls on it, school supplies decorated with owls, owl jewelry, and many other things involving owls. For Christmas 2014, my aunt got me these adorable owl bookends, which I am obsessed with. There is another half to the owl, but it is on a different shelf and I could not fit both into one picture.
